Homebound

After the handover of our boat on 2nd December 2022 we finally started to move aboard. We've bought so much in advance for use on board (12 large boxes and other items!) it took us well into the night to finally be in a position where we could make the trip from Hanbury to Alvechurch.

 

Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December 2022 were big days. A full tank of fuel, full tank of water, and a new "centre line" rope, we departed Hanbury Wharf heading north on the Worcester-Birmingham Canal. This was our maiden voyage, "Spirit of Discovery" finally comes home to Alvechurch Marina, travelling through Astwood Locks, Stoke locks and the famous Tardebigge Flight .

We must just say a big thank you to our friends Sue and Tony Robinson who helped us with our journey home - Sue is now "Queen of Locks"!
